Upside Down lies on the border of the charming Junction Triangle and Wallace Emerson districts of Toronto, offering easy access to the trendy Bloordale shopping area, Dufferin Grove Park (which hosts a weekend Farmer’s Market), and Earlscourt Park (which boasts ice rinks and a tennis court), as well as access to the greater downtown area via Landsdowne Station and the Bloor-Danforth Subway line.
The Junction Triangle began its ride in the late 1880s, when Grand Trunk, Toronto Grey and Bruce & Northern railway lines began service to this area. The railways were a great addition to the Junction, attracting industry and, in turn, labourers, to settle in this neighbourhood. A vote was held in March 2010 to determine what the best name for the neighbourhood and Junction Triangle won with a majority. Runner up was “Perth Park” and after that, “Black Oak Triangle”. Here at Axon, we feel that Junction Triangle is the perfect fit for this neighbourhood and truly captures its original purpose. The conscientious redevelopment of the area will provide residents with selection of both local and big-box retailers and give the triangle more modern look while retaining its old rugged charm.
